Trip Details: Bonaire – October 25 – November 8, 2025 – TWO WEEKS!

Coral Restoration Trip – Buddy Dive Resort,  Bonaire

Pick which week works best for your schedule or stay for both weeks! ADFC has reserved 12 spots for divers for each week (we can add more!) at Buddy Dive Resort. If we have 8 divers joining the trip, we will have our own boat. This will give us much more freedom to go where we want to dive. It will also enable us to help RRFB much more.

  • Package Price: $1,541.22 per person for one week. Two Week Package: $3,056.44
Credit Card Price: $1,579.75. Credit Card Price for Two Weeks: $3,132.84 (adds a 2.5% fee)
Rooms are double occupancy. (Price for a single room can be arranged.)

Included with the accommodations:

  • (6) Two Tank Boat Dives, including taxes. (12) Two Tank Boat Dives for Two Weeks
  • Unlimited Shore Diving
  • Free Nitrox, Tanks, Weights, and Belts.
  • Free airport transfers to and from the airport upon arrival and departure.
  • Standard trucks. Once we have our final numbers, we will provide more details.
  • Free Breakfast

Additional expenses:

  • Airfare
  • Bonaire Tourist Tax: $75 per person, tourist entry tax – payable before arrival online
at https://tourismtax.bonairegov.com or upon arrival at the Bonaire Flamingo Airport.
  • Coral Restoration Certification Course: For those divers that are new to coral restoration, you will want to add the Reef Renewal Coral Restoration Certification Course, The cost is $225 per diver and the classroom and diving will take place at Buddy Dive Resort. Please note that non-coral restoration certified divers who are taking the certification course will have a slightly different package that may be a reduced cost. Because of the time needed for classroom instruction and in-water training, it will be challenging to fit in the (6) 2-tank boat diving package so your package will be reduced to (3) 2-tank boat dives and this will discussed when booking your package with the Buddy reservation staff.
  • Stinapa Tag: All guests checking in at the dive shop should bring the following document: A printed version of the $45 STINAPA Marine Park E-Tag, this is a Bonaire requirement and Buddy Dive asks all divers to pre-purchase the STINAPA Tag from www.bonairenaturefee.org. They are valid for one year after purchase.

POTENTIAL SCHEDULE/ITINERARY*

ADFC CORAL RESTORATION TRIP – October 25 – November 8, 2025

Saturday, October 25th –  ARRIVAL, Welcome Dinner/Happy Hour, depending on arrival times.

Sunday, October 26th – Dive Briefing. We will include a tour of the coral nursery at Buddy House Reef. For the two-tank boat dive, we would like to visit two restoration sites so divers can see the goal of this work and some success stories. We will get more information from Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire (RRFB). If we can visit a restored site where they need monitoring information, we will take pictures and submit them for RRFB to review.

Monday, October 27th – Non-certified divers will be in the coral restoration course in the morning,  and they will dive on the Buddy House Reef for training. Certified divers will do a two-tank dive that day to a nursery location that needs cleaning, outplanting, or to help the RRFB on any other project. After or before the boat dives, certified coral restoration divers will clean or do whatever is needed at Buddy House Reef.

Tuesday, October 28th – Non-certified divers will be in the classroom in the morning and dive on Buddy House Reef for training. Certified divers will be on the buddy reef to take pictures of the newly certified coral restoration divers doing the work. The certified team will have boat dives (morning or afternoon). We can do monitoring work. We can visit two sites that have not been monitored lately and report back with pictures of diseased corals, bleaching, and fatalities.

Wednesday, October 29th – The entire team will do a two-tank dive in the morning or afternoon. We may have a RRFB intern with us. We can do more cleaning dives, monitoring, outplanting if the timing is right, help set up or take down a pop-up nursery, fragment and hang coral fragments, whatever work is needed, and on whatever sites need the help. The intern or experienced Buddy Dive Master can observe that the work is done correctly. On both dives this day and every day, we will be put to work. 2 more dives opposite the boat dives from shore or at Buddy House Reef for cleaning or whatever is needed. Some may choose to do a recreational shore dive in place of this.

Thursday, October 30th & Friday October 31st –  See Wednesday – Rinse and Repeat with the full team.

We could do more cleaning and then a recreational dive that is hard to get to by truck to add to the adventure. If RRFB gives us more tasks, we will know more two weeks before the trip.

Saturday – Nov. 16 – Sigh… Departure Day for some! New divers will be arriving and the lucky ones will be staying on for the second week. If you are staying for two weeks, this is either a day off, and time to help out cleaning the house reef or exploring more of the island!

The following week will be very similar to what is listed. We will see what RRFB needs us to do. We will be involved in some exciting projects.

Night Dives—Night diving in Bonaire is awesome. We can arrange for a night dive at either House Reef or another shore diving site. We can set up to do night dives on the Buddy House Reef for fun.

*This schedule is developed to give you an idea of what we will do on this trip. Due to fluctuating water temperatures, RRFB schedule, whether we field 10 divers so we can have our boat, weather conditions, and the experience level of the divers who join us on this mission trip, these activities, dates, and times may be revised. RRFB has committed to working with us, and they will give us a better idea of what we will be working on two weeks before our arrival.

To book a space on an ADFC Trip, fill out the form on this page. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Please note that if reserving multiple spaces, you agree to be financially responsible for all spaces booked. Each space is considered a separate reservation subject to the cancellation and refund policy detailed below.

Deposit: A $500 deposit is required to reserve a space on the trip. We can take payments in several ways. Click the link above to pay by credit card or debit card. If you pay by credit card, a fee of 2.5% will be added to the trip cost.

Pricing

Unless otherwise noted, the advertised price for a trip is the rate per diver, based on double occupancy. Prices do not include airfare.

All single travelers will be paired with a roommate of the same gender (if available) upon signing up for the trip. Participants are encouraged to secure their own roommates for the trip. However, the ADFC trip leader will also help pair roommates. Participants will be notified if a suitable roommate is unavailable within 30 days before departure. This trip does not allow for single occupancy rooms.

Please inquire with the trip leader for more information.

Payments

Payment installments are typically due on three occasions: upon reserving space, 180 days from departure, and 90 days from departure. Payment reminder e-mails are sent in advance of the payment due date. An adjusted payment schedule will apply if the reservation is made less than 180 days from departure. See below for complete details. Please contact your trip leader to discuss an alternative payment schedule if necessary.

If a payment is not received within 14 days past the due date, a 10% late fee will be added to the balance owed. If a payment is outstanding for 30 days, the participant’s space on the trip may be released, and all funds paid will be forfeited.

If you will be out of e-mail contact on a payment due date, please notify your ADFC Trip Leader in advance to make payment arrangements.

ADFC Program Fee

An ADFC Program Fee will be added to the cost of each reservation. The fee for each week of this trip is $50 and is included in the package price listed above.  The fee helps ADFC to cover costs for seminars, tools, and data management. The Fee varies depending on the location and duration of the trip. The Fee applies to all individuals over the age of 18 and to minors under 18 who occupy a space on the dive boat.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Substitutions

We know that plans sometimes change, and life gets in the way. If your plans change and you need to cancel your space on a trip, a cancellation notice must be made in writing. Each space is considered a separate reservation subject to the cancellation and refund policy.

If you need to cancel your space on this ADFC Trip, the following refund policy applies:

Cancellation Policy:

  • Before 90 days from the departure date, $100 per person processing fee applies
  • 90-60 days before departure date: 50% of the total amount on hand with ADFC at the date of cancellation is NON-refundable unless otherwise noted on the individual trip webpage
  • Less than 60 days before departure date: Refunds have yet to be available.*

If you need to cancel and have someone who can take your place (for the exact booking type, gender, bedding, etc.), please get in touch with your listed trip leader to make arrangements. A full refund of payments made to date, minus a $100 processing fee, will be given upon receipt of payment from your replacement.

When a credit is issued due to a cancellation, ADFC will first apply the credit to outstanding invoices for other ADFC Trips and then issue a refund of any remaining credit. Guests can also convert any refund owed to a charitable donation to ADFC. Credit on hand must be used within 2 years of issue unless other arrangements have been made.

*Our policy is intended to be fair to our guests yet prevent the loss of ADFC funds. When a reservation is canceled within 60 days before departure (and therefore no refund upon cancellation), if the trip runs full/sold out and we can rebook the canceled space within the same parameters as the original booking, we will refund the total paid less 25% after the trip has concluded. If a reservation is canceled between 90 and 60 days before departure (and therefore, a 50-75% refund was offered upon cancellation), if the trip runs full/sold out and we are able to resell the canceled space within the same parameters as the original booking, we will refund an additional 25% (of funds on hand when the cancellation was received) after the trip has concluded.

ADFC may alter the payment schedule or cancellation policy based on vendor rules for a particular trip. Please consult the individual trip details and contact your trip leader to determine a trip’s cancellation policy and payment deadlines.

No refunds can be issued for unused portions of any dive travel package, including but not limited to ground transportation, dives, nitrox, and meals, regardless of the reason(s) it was not used.

On each ADFC Trip, the Trip Leader works with the dive operator to plan a schedule that best meets the needs and objectives of the trip. However, the dive operation crew, boat captain(s), and, in some cases, the charitable organization make all decisions regarding dive sites and schedules. A trip may have to be diverted in cases of weather conditions if the dive operation feels that there is a safety risk.

ADFC Trips require a minimum number of participants. Trips are subject to cancellation if the minimum requirement is not met. In the event of trip cancellation, ADFC and/or any of our travel booking partners are not responsible for airline tickets purchased for travel on an ADFC Trip.
