Background on the presenter
“Chad Scott is a marine scientist and conservationist specializing in coral reef restoration. In 2007 he founded the New Heaven Reef Conservation Program in Thailand, which quickly became the de facto marine resource management group for the island. He then went on to run the Marine Branch of the Save Koh Tao Community group from 2008-2014 with many successes, including implementing a zoning plan for the island and building some of the largest artificial reefs in the South China Sea. Following these successes, he went on to start an international coral conservation certification company, Conservation Diver. Currently, Chad is working as the Lead Coral Scientist at the Reef Institute in West Palm Beach, helping with the Florida Coral Rescue Project and preparing to ramp up out-planting efforts in the region.”
