This webinar, hosted by Aquarium Divers For Coral Society (ADFC), is a call to action to the scuba diving community asking that you include volunteer coral restoration work in your dive trips. We need your help to “Turn the Tide with Volunteers!” The foundations and the scientists are working very hard to get ahead of the coral decline but they need help to scale efforts and stabilize the reef.
During this webinar, you will find out from ADFC what coral restoration work entails and get suggestions on how to include this valuable work in your dive trips. ADFC is now 4 years old and volunteers with 7 foundations in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys.
Hear an update from Natalie Hurtado, Research Scientist working at the Island School in Eleuthera, Bahamas. This research project is project of the Bahamas Coral Innovation Hub (BCIH) hosted by Cape Eleuthera Institute which is located at the Island School.
ADFC Divers have been asked to join the BCIH for a week of diving to help in the coral nurseries with cleaning, maintenance tasks, monitoring, outplanting and if the timing is right help with spawning activities as well. We can only include 14 divers on this adventure and you must have a Coral Restoration Certification and prior experience. The trip is capped at 14 divers so if you are interested please see the link below and don’t delay signing up for the tirp! Click Here for Details.
